MOA’s 111th Annual Convention & Scientific Seminar: Registration going on now!

The MOA Postgraduate Convention & Scientific Seminar is more than just an educational program. It’s a time to catch up with colleagues and friends you haven’t seen in a while and to reinforce your commitment to the osteopathic profession by participating at the MOA House of Delegates.
Many things happen during the week of convention that you may not be aware of. Aside from the educational programs for physicians, there are also programs for medical students, interns and residents and medical practice managers. There are receptions, luncheons, an exhibit hall and other social events that you can take advantage of.

In an effort to be more environmentally friendly and reduce paper and print costs, the MOA is now providing the PowerPoint presentations online.
The “Y” of Yoga with Practical Yoga Training and Complementary Medicine
On Thursday, May 13 plan to join fellow colleagues at 7:30 a.m. for yoga. This event will feature two speakers who will present “The Yoga of Healthy Alignment” and “Find the Quiet Within Using Meditation”. House of Delegates
This years House of Delegates will be held on Wednesday, May 12, 2010 at the Hyatt Regency Dearborn in the Springwells Ballroom. For information on past MOA House of Delegate resolutions, a sample resolution or reports, click here.
Advocates for the Michigan Osteopathic Association
The Advocates for the Michigan Osteopathic Association (AMOA) will hold their 66th Annual Convention and House of Delegates on Thursday and Friday during the MOA convention. This annual meeting is an excellent opportunity to learn what the Advocates are doing throughout the year to promote osteopathic medicine not only in Michigan, but throughout the country as they partner with the Advocates for the American Osteopathic Association. Student Program
The MOA Student Liaison Committee organizes a student program for MSUCOM students presented Friday afternoon during the MOA Annual Convention. The MOA Student Representatives poll their peers to select topics of interest. The program this year is on Friday, May 14, 2010 at 1:45 p.m. and ends by 4:30 p.m. Anyone interested is welcome to attend. Contact Jen Miller at 800-657-1556 for more information.
I/R and Young Physician Program
The MOA hosts an educational program for interns, residents and young physicians each year. This year’s program is scheduled for Thursday, May 13, 2010. Medical Practice Manager Program
For the past 10 years, the MOA has been planning educational programs for medical practice managers. This year’s program will cover topics that are both timely and informative. Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Basic Life Support
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification and Re-Certification and Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification courses are offered on Thursday & Friday each year during the convention. The dates for this year’s program are May 13-14, 2010. If you are in need of certification or recertification, you’ll want to sign up quickly.
