The time has come! MOA is ushering in a new era of communications with our members. Along with our Twitter feeds and Facebook page, we’re proud to unveil the newest addition to our e-communications initiative: UPDATE Online.

First off, let us tell you what hasn’t changed. You can count on UPDATE Online to deliver the same high-quality news and information for you, your practice and your patients as you’ve come to expect from the printed version of UPDATE. We’re committed to ensuring everything we post here follows one simple goal: helping our member physicians succeed.

So what’s new? There’s almost too much to list. First, UPDATE Online is more than a news site. It’s a place where MOA members and others can come together as a community and discuss the important issues facing health care in Michigan as well as the challenges and triumphs of Michigan’s osteopathic physicians. You’ll notice that each article posted here includes a comments section where you can offer your opinions and suggestions. As other members comment, you can engage them in dialogue (polite and respectful, please!). And rest assured we’ll be paying attention. This is a great way for us to listen to what our members are saying, which in turn helps us better shape our policies to fit with our members’ wishes.

In last month’s UPDATE, we offered some answers to common questions you might have. Just to make sure you get the most out of this and future issues, here are those questions and answers again.

How does it work?
Each month, MOA members will receive an email with a list of the latest articles available in that month’s issue. Just click the title of the article you want to read and you’ll be taken to the UPDATE Online main page.

But don’t forget, UPDATE Online will be updated throughout the month, so be sure to check back for the latest news.

What if I don’t have an email address on file at MOA?
You have two options! You can either submit your email address to us to receive UPDATE Online as well as other timely MOA announcements or, if you do not wish to submit your address you can still access UPDATE Online via the MOA website. The new issue will be available the first week of each month, though as noted before, the site will be updated regularly with new information when it becomes available.

Can I still receive a paper copy of UPDATE?
Other than the January issue which contains the MOA Annual Report, we will not publish any paper copies of the monthly UPDATE. However, while it may take a little getting used to, we’re confident you’ll find UPDATE Online is even more timely, informative and useful than before.
